This Privacy Notice describes how Advancement Christian University, LLC ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use the ADVANCE Daily application and website (the "Service"). For the personal data described here, Advancement Christian University, LLC acts as the data controller.
1. Personal data we collect
- Account & profile data: name, email address, login credentials, country, and how you heard about us.
- Service content: data you create inside the app — journal entries, goals, vision board images, habit logs, planner entries, life-area scores, AI conversations, and onboarding answers.
- Support messages: any messages you send to support or live chat.
- Usage & technical data: log files, device identifiers, IP address, browser type, and basic interaction telemetry needed to operate and secure the Service.
Payment card details are collected and processed by Paddle (our Merchant of Record) on its own systems and are not stored by us. See the data sharing section below.
2. Why we use your data (purposes & legal bases)
- To provide the Service — create and manage your account, deliver coaching content, sync your data across devices. Legal basis: performance of contract.
- Personalisation — tailoring AI coaching and content recommendations based on your goals and answers. Legal basis: performance of contract / legitimate interests.
- Customer support — responding to your requests. Legal basis: performance of contract / legitimate interests.
- Security & fraud prevention — detecting and preventing abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interests / legal obligation.
- Service improvement — understanding how the Service is used in aggregate. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Marketing — only where you have opted in. Legal basis: consent (which you may withdraw at any time).
- Legal compliance — meeting tax, accounting, and other legal obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation.
3. Who we share your data with
- Service providers (subprocessors) — cloud hosting and database (Supabase), application platform (Lovable), AI model providers used to power coaching features, email delivery, and analytics. These providers process data on our behalf under written contracts.
- Paddle — our Merchant of Record for the sale of the subscription, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing. Paddle processes your billing data as an independent controller for those purposes.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting, and insurance advisers when needed.
- Authorities — where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
- Successors — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
4. International transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside your country, including the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
5. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain it to meet legal, accounting, tax, or fraud-prevention obligations.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion of your data;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- request your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions, and Row-Level Security on our database. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
8. Cookies
The Service uses essential cookies and similar technologies needed to keep you signed in and to operate core features. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. If we add analytics cookies in the future we will update this notice and ask for your consent where required.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date.
